Ogden Botanical Gardens
Everyone has a passion, but few get to make it their career. Vic Robite is one of the lucky ones who get to enjoy his love for roses at his job at Ogden Botanical Gardens. He has been tending to the garden’s roses for 25 years now.

Ogden Botanical Gardens
The Ogden Botanical Gardens promote inner-city beauty and educational opportunities for everyone in a diverse garden setting. They’re dedicated to helping visitors find answers and glean ideas that inspire them to enhance their own quality of life through improved plant selection, cultural practices, and environmentally sound activities.
Established in 1994, this public garden covers an area of eleven acres and is home to many different garden styles including rose, cottage, four-seasons, Japanese, water-wise, and memorial gardens. It’s also a great place to host a picnic or take a leisurely walk.
Chic Eden Condo w/ Pool Access 5 Mi to Ski is the best choice for your stay in Ogden. It offers a great location, close to Peery’s Egyptian Theater and Union Station.
Treehouse Children’s Museum
Treehouse Children’s Museum aims to encourage kids to “step into a story” via hands-on interactive exhibits and activities. The museum has been in operation since 1992 and has a lot to offer families, especially with new additions such as Jack’s Fairy Tale Diner, Jupiter Train Locomotive, German House Puppet Theater, and Utah’s Color Canyon.
Families can also visit the Big Red Barn, One World Village, and Rodeo Arena rooms. There is also RAMPed Up Art in the art garden and a chance to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog.
All visitors must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. Kids under 2 are free. Timed admission tickets are available to avoid crowds and line-ups. A must-see place!
Ogden Beer Co.
The owners of popular Ogden brewpub Wimpy and Fritz have teamed up with local brewer Jacquie King to open this Ogden brewery. The new location is open for lunch and dinner. It is for 21+ only.
Karen Becker Edson walked into Ogden River Brewing a couple of years ago to find that a plaque still hung outside, claiming that the restaurant was built on the site where her family’s old brewery once stood. She also saw a photo of her family members in the bar area.
She and her husband, Brian Ruzek, filed a lawsuit against Ogden River Brewing and its parent company, Lotus Craft. The lawsuit claims that the brewery was trying to cash in on Becker’s name and branding without her permission.
Hill Aerospace Museum
Located on the Hill Air Force Base, this museum displays some pretty amazing historic aircraft. Some of the most notable ones include a Burgess-Wright Flyer, B-24 Liberator, and F-16 Thunderbird. Kids will love to check out the stealthy SR-71.
The exhibits are divided into five themes: Beginnings in Aviation, World War II, Dawn of the Jet Age, The Cold War, and Keeping the Peace. Kids can also enjoy a virtual reality experience from an A-10 Warthog pilot’s perspective.
Admission is free to the public, but monetary donations are appreciated to help keep the museum open. The museum is easily accessible from Interstate 15 at Exit 338 in Roy, Utah.
Peery’s Egyptian Theater
Peery’s Egyptian Theater is an ornately decorated theater built in 1924. It was constructed at a time when the discovery of King Tut’s tomb inspired the Egyptian theme in movies and other entertainment venues.
The auditorium is one level and steeply raked to provide all seats with an unobstructed view of the stage. The seating area has 800 seats and two theater boxes for parties of 15 people. The ceiling sky can still be changed from a daytime to a night sky.
The theater hosts musicals, dance shows, and other live performances. It also serves as a cultural arts center. The restoration of the theater was completed in 2004.
Union Station
Trains, guns, cowboys, and cars are all at your fingertips in Ogden’s historic Union Station. One ticket gets you into all four family-friendly museums in the building, including the Utah State Railroad Museum, Spencer S. Eccles Rail Center, Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, and Browning-Kimball Classic Car Museum.
Volunteers who have worked to keep the museum alive for decades are concerned that the city plans to move the museums out of the building. They believe the city is ignoring their input and a public process. They are hoping to prevent this from happening. Discover more interesting articles.
